Welcome to iFat
Whenever someone asked me what my dream job would be, my answer was always instantaneous.
‘NBA player.’
Then I realised I was an out of shape, relatively short Chinese guy with a hot and cold jump shot. So I quickly put that dream to bed, the answer that closely followed that one was always ‘food critic.’ Though it wasn’t as unrealistic as being a professional basketball player, it still seemed like an impossible venture. Who cares about my opinion? Who really listens to Isaac Lai?
Then I realised that you guys do.
A lot of you guys have followed me since the inception of my blogging career and haven’t left even though I’ve inundated you with 1,500 word blogs about One Tree Hill, the OC, Backstreet Boys and my lack of girlfriends.
So how about I write about something that EVERYONE likes? Food!
I’ve been on record criticising a lot of food bloggers because they base their posts around photos and writing is placed on the back burner. I know a picture tells a thousand words but the other thousand you type up matter as well. Even the blogs that try read a lot like someone using the synonym function on Microsoft Word that I only learned about a few months ago. So I’m going to put my mouth where my word and where other tasty morsels may be. I’m going to join the legion of food bloggers that exist on the interwebs.
I Am Too Free will still be where my heart is, but I will be creating a new blog based on where my mouth and stomach reside. You’re not going to believe this but I’m actually friends with a few prominent food bloggers and hopefully we’ll be getting a few collaborations into your eyeballs as soon as possible.
What’s that you ask? What will my new food venture be called?
‘iFAT – Food Chronicles’
How did I arrive at that name? Well, an anagram of IATF is iFat.
That pretty much sealed the deal for me.
